Organized and executed by the WLSA Student Council, this year’s conference theme “The Human Condition”, aims to connect students to their individual leadership voice in a world consumed by overwhelming streams of news and media.  This conference will dissect the ways social media and technology are impacting todays student as well as look at studies, techniques and tools to deal with the anxiety and stress that comes from the innate desire to succeed.  During the 6 days students will learn from their global peers as well as local experts and a variety of inspiring keynote speakers.  Students will also participate in small group work discussions that focus on the Emotional self, the Physical self and the Mental self.  Additionally, the Holistic Life Foundation from Baltimore, will lead a series of workshops on mindfulness, meditation and using yoga as a tool to deal with anxiety and stress - these courses are available to both student and educator.

Call for Proposals:

Students are at the heart of this entire conference- Help us build the WLSA Student Conference programme and propose a session. The conference’s strength is based on sessions created and led by student leaders like you. Share your experiences, lessons learned or an intitative you hold dear for a 10 or 30 minute session.  The list of proposed topics, application form and agreement form can be downloaded below.  Applications are due April 3, 2018.

We are pleased to announce the 2018 WLSA Student Conference will be hosted by the Korea International School – Jeju Campus, an exciting location for students from around the world to join together for a week of growth, social events, excursions and cross cultural leadership training.

Costs & Scholarship

€200.00 per student covers:

  • Room and board for 5 nights
  • Meals
  • Linens
  • Airport pick up and drop off
  • Cultural Excursions
  • Sports & Activities

Students must fund their own airfare and travel insurance.  We have the Tony Little scholarship available for those in need of financial assistance. To be considered a recommendation letter from a staff member expressing financial need and an application from the student are necessary – learn more here!

Post Conference Tour

We understand 6 days is a short amount of time for your students to travel a long way - so we have created a suggested post-conference tourto see some of the highlights around Korea.  Please note that WLSA will not be organizing this tour.
