CAN Panels

The CAN panels brought together admissions representatives from a diverse range of leading colleges and universities. These panels offered students invaluable insights into the admissions process, demystifying what schools look for beyond test scores and grades. Topics covered included crafting authentic personal statements, understanding holistic review processes, exploring financial aid opportunities, and choosing the right-fit institution. Panelists also shared advice on how students can highlight their unique experiences and contributions, encouraging them to approach applications with confidence and self-awareness.

CAN Workshop (Mock Admission)

The workshop simulated the experience of a real admissions committee, guiding students through the evaluation of sample applications to illustrate how strengths, weaknesses, and unique qualities are assessed in a holistic review. Acting as admissions officers, participants discussed and debated each applicant’s merits, gaining valuable insight into what truly makes an application stand out — and why. This interactive, hands-on exercise not only demystified the often intimidating admissions process but also provided practical guidance on how students can present themselves authentically and effectively in their own applications.
