Director of College Counselling
Montgomery Bell Academy
Ginny Maddux is the Director of College Counselling at Montgomery Bell Academy (MBA) in Nashville, TN. MBA is an independent boys day school grades 7 - 12 with a population of approximately 750 boys. Ginny feels blessed to have worked in the college admissions field for 26 years with a number of different populations. She started her work at Dickinson College after graduating from Dickinson in 1990. She also worked as Director of College Counselling for The Webb School, Harpeth Hall School and Shady Side Academy before taking her current position at MBA in 2008. Ginny has presented at local, regional and national conferences and has served on the College Counselling Advisory Boards for seven different Universities.
Associate Vice President & Executive Director of Admissions
Ms. Walter has 35 years of experience in college admissions and enrolment. She is responsible for the overall planning, management, and administration of the admissions office, which includes providing leadership and direction for all undergraduate recruitment and marketing initiatives and development and implementation of BU’s global strategy. Ms. Walter has made significant contributions to the profession through her involvement with NEACAC, NACAC, NEACRAO and the College Board.
DOUGLAS L. CHRISTIANSEN, PHD
Vice Provost for University Enrollment Affairs & Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid
Holds a Ph.D. in higher education administration and is Vanderbilt University's vice provost for university enrolment affairs, and dean of admissions and financial aid. Dr. Christiansen holds a Ph.D. in higher education administration and is an associate professor of public policy and higher education in the Department of Leadership, Policy and Organizations at Vanderbilt University's Peabody College. Currently, he is serving as Chair for the Board of Trustees of the College Board. In his role as vice provost, Dr. Christiansen serves as the university’s chief enrolment strategist, overseeing the University Enrolment Affairs Leadership Team, which consists of the offices of Undergraduate Admissions, Student Financial Aid and Scholarships, Enrolment Management Operations Support (EMOS), University Registrar, Enrolment Management for Health Sciences Education, Center for Data Management, Student Accounts, and the Vanderbilt Institutional Research Group (VIRG).
ROBERT S. LAY
Dean for Enrollment Management
Robert is a practitioner of enrollment management for over 35 years, and for over 30 years at Boston College, where he and his colleagues conceived many enrollment management concepts and practices now in use worldwide. He previously was a university lecturer at University of Wisconsin Madison and at Boston College. He has incorporated sociological research methods for developing the enrollment analytics for decision making. Proponent of integrated student marketing communications closely coupled with programming for academic excellence. In addition to authoring numerous articles on enrollment issues, has edited a volume with Jean Endo entitled Designing and Using Market Research (Jossey-Bass, 1987). Robert is a former chairperson of the Deans Advisory Committee to US News and World Report, a past President of the Northeast Association for Institutional Research, and now active in AJCU, AIR, AACRAO, NACAC, and CEEB. Robert also co-founded the National Council for Enrollment Policy and Practices.
