A Teaching Experience in South Africa
This year’s Faculty Exchange was hosted by our WLSA associate Westville Boys’ High School and gave 6 WLSA Associate faculty members from 4 different countries the opportunity to experience South African school life through teaching, consulting and supporting classes, as well as excursions around Durban and neighboring areas, such as the HLUHLUWE Game Park safari.
The 2020 Faculty Exchange will be hosted February 1 - February 14 at The Lovett School in the US. More information will soon be added to the website.

Highlights
''My funniest experience here that I’ve had teaching in a different cultural environment was when a student asked me if I had a pet kangaroo. It was a funny, nice sort of light moment, but it also made me very aware that we need to share knowledge across cultures because there is so much that I don’t know about South African culture and clearly that students and others don’t know that we don’t have pet kangaroos.''
"This faculty exchange was the best experience of professional and personal life, I have never learned or grown so much in such a short period of time."
''I would definitely recommend my staff or other people to come to this exchange because it’s gives a lot of exposure about different kinds of culture and also an introduction to a beautiful country.''
