Explore Atlanta

As the capital of the state of Georgia, Atlanta is a cultural and economic hub. The city has the ninth largest population in the US, and the largest airport in the entire world. Atlanta was originally founded in 1836, but was burned to the ground during the Civil War. After the war was over, Atlanta was gradually rebuilt into the metropolitan city we know and love today!
The city has seen and played a large role in many historical events, even providing a significant amount of transportation and goods for World War 2. In addition, Atlanta has rich multi-cultural history and was a major organizing center for the Civil Rights Moment in the 1960s.
